Alberta Prairie Railway

Alberta Prairie Railway (APR) is a customer-focused short line railway in central Alberta. APR offers rail car storage and switching services for industrial shippers, and serves several agricultural shippers within the Town of Stettler, and between Stettler and Big Valley, Alberta. Alberta Prairie also operates an award-winning tourist railway product during the summer months, complete with seasonal special operations and charters.

Boundary Trail Railway Company

Boundary Trail Railway Company (BTRC) is a locally owned and operated shortline railway located in south-central Manitoba. BTRC formed by local farmers in 2008 with the goal of preventing the removal of a portion of CP track that had been abandoned and was scheduled for salvage. Upon successful purchase of the railway, BTR re-established local shipping options for producers, enhanced competition from grain buyers, and preserved rail infrastructure for use by local communities and businesses. BTRC services include grain haulage and logistics, transload opportunities and car storage.

Canadian Pacific

Incorporated in 1881, Canadian Pacific Railway was formed to physically unite Canada and Canadians from coast to coast and the building of the railway is considered to be one of Canada’s greatest feats of engineering.

The CPR played a major role in the promotion of tourism and immigration, as well as Canada’s war efforts and through the years, the railway grew and diversified to include steamships, hotels, airlines, mining, oil and gas exploration, delivery and telecommunications companies.

Northern Plains Rail Services

Northern Plains Rail Services (NPRS) is a group of companies—working within one corporate family—to safely deliver unparalleled rail transportation, maintenance, and contracting services to customers in the United States and Canada. NPRS delivers high quality track construction, maintenance, and track inspection services through its Complete Track Works division across the U.S. midwest. Opening in 2020, NPRS operates a full service rail car repair facility at Grand Forks, ND. This location also offers transload services, rail car storage, and specialty switching.

 Northern Plains Logistics Canada, an NPRS sister company, proudly serves central Alberta and the prairies with locomotive services consulting and leasing, as well as operations management and consulting.

Northern Plains Railroad

Northern Plains Railroad (NPR) is a customer-focused regional railroad operating a 350 route miles in North Dakota and western Minnesota. NPR is a member of the Northern Plains Rail Companies that provide a “one-stop shop” for third party rail services including track construction, rail car repair, locomotive servicing and supply, industrial switching, technical training, and consulting in the US Midwest and western Canada.
